Preparing for Your Appointment
Page Content
You only have a limited amount of time to work with your tutor so it’s important to be prepared to make the most of it.
When you set up your appointment, upload any useful documents you may have. This may include:
- An assignment description or prompt from your class
- The document you’ll be working
- Any feedback you may have received from your instructor
- You’ll also want to have your instructor’s email address if you want them to receive a report of what happened in your session.
Before your appointment, try to form a list of things you want to work on. This may include:
- Things you are concerned about, based on your experience writing or feedback you’ve received
- Ideas and ways of using information that seem important to your instructors
- The desired format and citation style used in your class
You may also want to prepare information that may be useful to your tutor, like:
- What you are hoping to achieve through your writing
- A timeline for completion of your project
- Relevant class policies that may impact your work (such as your teacher’s AI policy)
- The things you like about your own writing as it stands
The more information you give your tutor, the better they will be able to help you—but if you don’t know, that’s okay! Working with your tutor may help you connect the dots.
While many of these information points are attached to work for the classroom, we can also help with other forms of written work, including resumes, applications, and visual presentations. Just let us know when you schedule your appointment!
